The series tells the story of Emery (Aimee Teegarden), a teenager who falls in love with Roman (Matt Lanter), an alien boy belonging to a race known as the Atrians, who have been trapped in an internment camp on Earth for the past decade.

Ten years earlier, a young Emery met Roman and helped him hide from the authorities, secretly feeding him and forming a deep bond of friendship. After a violent confrontation, Roman is captured, and Emery grows up believing he died that day.

In the present, a group of teenage Atrians is released from a heavily guarded internment camp known as The Sector to test whether coexistence with humans is possible. Amid the tension of the experiment’s early days, Emery learns that Roman is alive — and now one of her classmates. Their childhood bond quickly resurfaces, reigniting emotions that defy the boundaries between two worlds.

As fear and distrust grow among humans, the connection between Emery and Roman becomes increasingly powerful… and dangerously forbidden when a violent clash between their fathers threatens to ignite a new war.
